Driving in Kotagiri town

Turn left to paradise

Driving inside Kotagiri town is not very pleasant as the town is very crowded and traffic one way and indisciplined. But the roads become empty and scenic once you move five kilometres from the downtown area. Kotagiri bus station is a place without a character and the beautiful view of destroyed by a windowless bus shelter. There is a Sasthafa Tiffin house and white twin Qubba mosque here. Hotel Premier Inn gives basic accommodation here. You can drive to scenic villages like Kerben, Pudukotagiri, Sathukulli, Pudur, Keirbetta, Warwick and Kaggula. There is a park called Pandian Park in Ooty road and another one called Tagore park. International schools like the Riverside School and the K.P.S.School also have beautiful campuses but they won’t let you in unless you wear an expensive jacket. Even better is the K.P.S.College campus on a hill where no permission is required as it is meant for older kids. The town becomes less crowded and more attractive when you move towards Johnson Squire on Coimbatore road. The little village of Donington has an important junction and this place is also very photogenic.
